Riverside Festival, Scotland’s premiere celebration of electronic music, have announced the line-up for a new stage at this years 3-day weekender.
Revealed as the Satellite Stage, the latest addition embraces the diversity of the city and the abundance of up-and-coming homegrown talent that Glasgow is renowned for.
Taking place in the grounds of the iconic Zaha Hadid designed Riverside Museum on Glasgow’s Clydeside, a melting pot of electronic musical styles will be on offer across the weekend.
On the newly added Friday the much loved community station Clyde Built Radio will take over the Satellite Stage with a line-up including: double Scottish Alternative Music Award Winner DJ, producer and activist TAAHLIAH, a special b2b from two of the best in the west Ribeka and Sofay and Junglehussi who has been a massive beacon of positive energy this last year.
Clyde Built has proven to be a lifeline of connection for the Glasgow scene during the strangest and most difficult year that weve been faced with. Founded by Huntleys + Palmers head Andrew Thomson in 2019, the online radio station has flourished with a nourishing environment for newcomers to share the schedule with city’s mainstays and as a result, have uncovered many new favourite DJ’s - some of whom will be joining them across the Friday.
Andrew Thomson says: “ On Friday we are bringing the best local talent from Clyde Built Radio regulars - covering everything from electro and EBM to hyperpop and party starters. Good vibes guaranteed.”
Across Saturday and Sunday, the journey of musical discovery will continue at the Satellite Stage. Since Electric Frog and Pressure got together at the inception of Riverside Festival, the event has strived to support and promote their city’s scene. After the challenging year that the music scene has experienced, it’s more important than ever to collaborate with the local music scene.
The programme reflects a cross section of Glasgow’s underground electronic scene from Lezzerquest’s Anna Gram, who runs Shoot Your Shot with Bonzai Bonner, and hi-energy and Afro-house vibes from Dija b2b ButhoTheWarrior, to the party starters Acid Ultras playing live and the vast and varied array of talented producers on board. The bookings also ventured out with the city to bring Co-Accused from Club 69 in Paisley and Inverness techno collective, Kouncil Cuts.
Grahame Ward, one of the festival’s bookers, said: “It’s somewhere new for us to involve the homegrown talent we have such an abundance of in the city. The artists are playing across the board musically and there’s names that some will know, and some won’t yet - that’s the beauty of it though - you go to see an act you love and then stick about to hear someone youre going to be looking for info on afterwards.”
Dave Clarke, Co-Festival Director continues: “The Satellite Stage is about dipping into Glasgow’s rich and diverse underground club scene which has been a joy with so much variety of electronic talent on our doorstep.”

Every month DJ Peanut brings something different to her show and were excited to hear what she has in store on a big sound system. Will she go for chuggy belters or pounding techno? Something else entirely is also likely.
Weve been dying to hear Iris play in a club all year - look no further for all your slamming EBM and Valencian Electro needs.
Mic-master Ewan Chambers has been a great source of entertainment and comfort with his Lush Life show providing a community meeting place to link up for bowls matches, exciting giveaways - all sound tracked by some of the best music around.
Growing up in a musical family with a big emphasis on post-punk, it didn’t take long for Becky Marshall, aka Ribeka, to tap into her appetite for music. After years of avid record collecting, Marshall finally took the step of investing in a set of decks in 2014 – applying for a show on Subcity Radio shortly after. Along with friends Iona Fortune and Katie Shambles, Marshall has been running So Low, a club night dedicated to the darker recesses of synth, wave and industrial music. The Riverside Festival is a special one as she will be joined in the booth by close friend and regular back-to-back partner/fellow NTS Radio host, Sofay.
Sofay is at the helm of a new wave of Glasgow artists. An exceptional selector with a versatile approach - as comfortable creating hypnotic vibes using dubby minimalism and sublime oddities as she is fusing curious electro, techno and house.
With residencies held at La Cheetah, and Numbers, as well as gigging further afield, playing at Nitsa in Barcelona for their Off Sonar party; Elsewhere in NYC, Golden Pudel in Hamburg, and Berlin. She was also invited by Palms Trax and Midland for their residencies in London, and by Optimo to Nachtdigital for the huge 20th anniversary party. Holding down a regular NTS Radio slot alongside Ribeka 2021’s going be a big year for this exceptional talent!

A Glasgow native, Bake has been drawing attention from those in the know since he stepped onto the scene as a DJ in 2010. Hearing the All Caps co-owner play music - whether on his monthly Rinse FM residency or at an inviting party - is like hanging out with a good friend: you might hear something new, or perhaps something familiar that sounds fresh thanks to Bake’s skills as a selector.
What Bake brings to the table is decidedly unique in the way that he’s able to deftly command a broad spectrum of music and filter it through his personality. Any record, even a record you or I might know and love, can sound new, as if Bake’s relationship with it is truly one of a kind.

Their practice started in early 2016 from the love for both music and visual art, which led them to pursue VJ practice, but it was inevitable they would also end up behind the decks. Featured in such publications as Red Bull and DAZED, as well as given the platform at Mixmag Impact series, they love to create an immersive experience musically and visually, with the focus on dark 140bpm-driven atmosphere, mixing it up with upbeat club sound and experimental electronics. Closing out the day in style with none other than Junglehussi who has been a massive beacon of positive energy and support throughout our first year and one of our favourite all round DJs.

Anna Gram is a long-standing resident of Glasgows hugely popular queer party Shoot Your Shot, and one half of duo LEZZER QUEST. Anna began DJing in the early 2000’s, inspired by all the time shed spent on the dance floor. She started playing at nights across the south-coast of England, most notably the infamous Portsmouth based night Punchfunk, where she became a regular guest. When Anna made the move to Glasgow, she quickly imprinted herself on the citys vibrant electronic music scene, playing some of the best venues and after-hours parties. In 2016 Anna met Bonzai Bonner, the creator of Shoot Your Shot, who promptly brought her on as a permanent SYS resident. They later formed LEZZER QUEST, going on to be regular guests at many of Scotlands most revered venues, and earning them a spot in The Lists Hot 100 of 2019, and a place on the Sub Clubs roster of residents.
Being an ADHDJ means that Anna easily switches between genres, no two sets ever sounding the same, but her love of uplifting and melodic music always at the forefront of her selections. With a career spanning two decades, Anna has played throughout the UK alongside some of the scenes biggest names including Eris Drew, Octo Octa, Cormac, The Blessed Madonna, Erol Alkan, Perel and Hot Chip. She is a regular guest on Glasgow based Clyde Built Radio, and LEZZER QUEST has a monthly residency on Radio Buena Vida.
In 2020 Anna started making her own productions which are heavily influenced by her love of beautiful melodies, nature and the cosmos. Annas productions have received plays on Jaguars BBC Radio 1 Introducing show, and BBC Introducing in Scotland.
Scott McKay aka Fear-E is a DJ and producer based in Glasgow. Having a long-time association as a regular DJ within his hometown’s club scene, Scott’s singular style of cross-genre club music and energetic to fiery sets, spanned into more appearances in various notable clubs around UK and Europe. With a spatial and deconstructive approach to music, Fear-E’s productions pitch soft and hard sonics to create stripped-down, club-focused tracks. His alter-ego music creations join smatterings of rave and pop-edits, aimed for the dancefloor.
Aside from his multiple releases on award winning imprint DABJ (Dixon Avenue Basement Jams) he has released through labels such as Dark Entries, Super Rhythm Trax, Don’t Be Afraid, Hilltown Disco, Avoidant, Takeout, Street Tracks and Zone. Fear - E has had various radio guest spots and plays which included BBC Radio 1 and Rinse FM. His productions have been supported by several artists including Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Paul Woolford, Skream, Leftfield, and Andrew Weatherall.
Glasgows Modus has been steadily releasing his take on techno and electro on labels such as Outer Zone, Sungate & Alien Communications who will also be dropping his debut album this summer. Hes also no stranger to the Scottish club scene as a resident of seminal Edinburgh techno night, Substance and a regular guest at La Cheetah.

Craigie Knowes duo Max & Mitch have been playing records together for over 10 years now despite still being in their 20s. This coupled with running one of the most well-respected labels to come out of the UK in recent years has led the pairing to have a varied & extensive record collection with a knowledge & understanding of the craft well beyond their years.
This translates into DJ sets which have ignited dancefloors across Europe as well as gathering a loyal band of listeners to their monthly Rinse FM show. Having cut their teeth as resident DJs at infamous Aberdeen club The Tunnels as well Glasgow’s Sub Club & La Cheetah, the latter in which they still run their label parties. The trailblazing duo know how to keep the dance floor pumping, transcending genres, playing tracks with the club in mind alongside rare hidden gems only the most ardent digger would find. They play with a fluidity & energy that can only be achieved having spent thousands of hours DJing alongside each other as well as a deep understanding of what makes dancefloors tick.
Prior to the pandemic they had recently played in Bristol, London, Brighton, Berlin, Leipzig, Belfast, Barcelona, Geneva & Amsterdam to name a few, as well as having their own Boiler Room with other artists on their label joining them for the evening. 2020 was set to be their biggest year yet and as Max & Mitch continue their stellar output they will continue to be a mainstay in the scene in Europe & beyond for many years to come.
