Playground Festival rescheduled due to COVID-19

The Playground Festival in Rouken Glen Park, originally scheduled to start on Friday 31st July has been rescheduled to 25th September due to health concerns regarding the current coronavirus pandemic.

The organizers of the festival posted the following below on social media...

Dear Playground Family,

The ongoing health and safety of our Playground family is our top priority.

Therefore following the guidance from the Scottish & UK Government that large scale gatherings should currently not take place due to COVID-19, we have taken the decision to postpone Playground 2020.

This decision comes after much consideration and consultation with our artists, partners and East Renfrewshire Council (ERC). To ensure that this year’s edition of the festival goes ahead in the same great location, with its amazing vibe and great artists then this postponement is in everyone’s best interest.

Playground 2020 was originally scheduled to take place 31st July, August 1st & 2nd however will now take place on the September Weekend Glasgow Bank Holiday.

• FRIDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER
• SATURDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER
• SUNDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER

Please be assured that our festival directors will be in regular communication with ERC and closely following announcements made by the WHO and the Scottish Government. We will keep you all informed of any further changes over the coming weeks and months.

We are delighted to confirm that Underworld, CHVRCHES and The Flaming Lips have all confirmed to headline the 25th, 26th & 27th respectively. They have all been hugely supportive of our decision to reschedule and we thank them for their understanding.

We are so looking forward to welcoming you all to enjoy this year’s line-up full of fantastic artists and performers that we are incredibly proud to have booked for you. Thank you for your messages of support for this years event.

We are all in this together and can’t wait to see you for the biggest party the Glasgow September Weekend Bank Holiday has ever seen. In the meantime, look after each other, be safe and remember friends, you are stronger than you think. Stay strong.
