Peters timeless talent and dedication, proved once again why he is a true icon of the music industry

Glasgow is experiencing the usual torrential rain after enjoying a long period of sunshine, but the mood wasnt to be ruined as one of the legends in rock music was to perform at Glasgows premier music venue, the OVO Hydro.

The former Genesis front man, known for his powerful vocals, mesmerizing stage presence, and boundary-pushing performances, was about to take Glasgow on a unforgettable journey.

As the lights dimmed and the crowd erupted in anticipation, the unmistakable figure of Peter Gabriel emerged onto the stage, instantly capturing the attention of every single person in the packed arena. It was an 8pm start with no support, as Gabriel and his band started the night with a small acoustic set with Washing Of The Water and Growing Up being played, with a giant moon in the background.

The stage production was impressive, The use of innovative lighting and mesmerizing projections, created a visually stunning backdrop for Gabriels performance, perfectly complementing the emotions conveyed through the music.

Gabriel then went on to play a few songs from his new album, to give the crowd a taster of what to expect from it, such as Panopticom, Four Kinds Of Horses and of course the album title song, I/O.

What sets Peter Gabriel apart from other artists is his ability to connect deeply with his audience, he was making fun of himself for being bald and old much to the audiences amusement as well as telling many stories to the crowd.

The set finished with the likes of Olive Tree, Playing for Time and of course one of his most memorable songs, Sledgehammer, as an interval occurred afterwards allowing the audience to take a breather or get refreshments.

The second set began 30 minutes later and it started where the first set left off. the likes of Darkness, Love Can Heal and Road To Joy, Dont Give Up and Red Rain was performed, with Gabriels powerful voice and vocals all there to see. The next song was personally emotional for Gabriel, as "And Still" was dedicated to his mother who died in 2016.

The personal highlight was the performance of "Solsbury Hill," which saw Gabriel unleash his boundless energy on stage. It was a moment of pure joy and unity, a testament to the timeless nature of Gabriels music and its ability to bring people together.

Gabriel finished the concert with 2 encores, performing In Your Eyes and Biko, the latter being dedicated to South African activist Steve Biko as the gig concluded.

The combination of Gabriels commanding voice, the flawless musicianship of his band, and the stunning visual effects created an immersive experience that transported us into a world of bliss. With Peters timeless talent and dedication, proved once again why he is a true icon of the music industry.
