Alter Bridge - OVO Hydro 02/03/2026

Alter Bridge delivered the kind of performance that reminds you why they remain one of modern rock’s most beloved live acts

On a cold night in Glasgow, Alter Bridge returned to perform in Scotlands premier venue, the OVO Hydro, signalling the arrival of a band that has spent 20 years refining its brand of soaring hard rock. Everyone in attendance was psyched.

The gig took place at the OVO Hydro

Support came from Atlanta metal veterans Sevendust, performing their first Glasgow show in over 8 years, “we’re delighted to be back here”, said Lajon Witherspoon as the group warmed up the crowd with a 30 minute mini-set, blasting out classics like “Denial”, “Black” and “Enemy”. Despite the relatively short set, Sevendust delivered the warm-up with relentless energy and precision, by the time they closed with the ferocious “Face to Face,” the Hydro crowd was fully fired up for the evening ahead, proving that even with limited time, Sevendust know exactly how to leave a lasting impression.

It was Daughtry’s turn to keep the adrenaline flowing, they packed their set with hooks, soaring choruses, and a polished rock punch. Another mini set consisting of “Its Not Over”, “Divided”, “Over You” and finishing off with “Artifical”. By the time they left the stage, the Hydro audience were fully warmed up and ready for the main event, proof that even as support acts on the night, Sevendust and Daughtry know exactly how to win over a crowd.

Anticipation was already high by the time Alter Bridge took the stage. Bridge opened up with “Silent Divide”, a blast of distortion and pounding drums, they wasted no time in establishing the tone and the crowd went into a frenzy. Frontman Myles Kennedy’s powerful voice controlled and reached the floor and many tiers of the Hydro without strain, with songs like “Addicted to Pain”, “Playing Aces” and “Fortress”, Kennedy commanded the arena with ease.

After the more chilled and heartfelt “Watch Over You” was played, Kennedy said “Its time for the hard stuff again” and followed up with the fan favourite “Silver Tongue”, featuring the music video of the song in the back drop, the Hydro was bouncing at this point. Massive singalongs for “Rise Today” and “Metalingus” turned the arena into a sea of raised arms, crowd surfers and shouted lyrics, the guards at the front certainly had a nightmare shift on the night.

Guitarist Mark Tremonti provided the night’s muscular backbone. His riffs and melodic solos, particularly during the epic “Blackbird” after the encore, reminded the audience why he’s regarded as one of the genre’s most respected musicians, drummer Scott Phillips kept the set moving with relentless energy, the groups chemistry was all there to see and it blended like bread and butter.

The band concluded the gig with “Isolation”, the fans left the venue satisfied and another successful night at the OVO Hydro came to a close.

The night was far from a sell out, but Alter Bridge delivered the kind of performance that reminds you why they remain one of modern rock’s most beloved live acts, the guards were relieved that the gig was over after 2 hours of crowd surfer dealing, the atmosphere was that of a typical rock gig and the band certainly delivered.
