Hello, how are you?

This will be my last newsletter from Glasgow until mid July as I will be based in Manchester. I will still be keeping you all up to date with news from this great city so please, anything you want said please let me know!

I am delighted to announce I am DJing T in the Park this year. I will be playing in the Red Bull arena on the Saturday night!

The website will be going live this week too!

Hope you got a chance to check out www.orangerockcorps.co.uk , I am very excited about starting in June and would be great if you are in the area if you could volunteer. Give, Get Given! You will receive tickets to a show at Manchester’s Apollo! I am also booking DJs for this event from the Manchester area, so if you know any can you let me know and i will see if suitable

The lineup for Go North has been announced. I will be up on the Thursday, would be great to meet up with any of you who are up there.

Expect a mixture of old and new indie, rock n roll and electro. Requests welcomed as it’s your night out

The Ray Summers

They Ray Summers can announce that they will be playing this years T in the Park festival. The band got through the T Break heats and will play Balado in July!
The launch of new single ‘Heshka Rashka.’ has been moved to July 19th. Catch the band this Thursday at their hometown show in Falkirk and also at the Wee Chill festival in Glasgow on Saturday. The band will also be playing the Kelso Scooter Rally on Friday night and Hungry Pigeon Manchester on Sunday.

After two successful events raising £9000 for Cancer Research UK, TBC will be running a new event for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres entitled ‘Dusk to Dawn’.
TBC – Together Beat Cancer present ‘Dusk to Dawn’. A two part music event designed to raise both funds and awareness of this fantastic charity.
‘Dusk to Dawn’ takes place on Friday 28th & Saturday 29th May 2010 at The Buff Club
PART ONE -‘DUSK ‘ – Friday 28th May 2010
Loki, Louise McVey & The Cracks in the Concrete, Admiral Fallow
The evening will be hosted by legendary Scottish DJ Jim Gellatly.
Radio Magnetic Soundsystem DJs will also be on hand to spin some fresh tunes for your listening pleasure!
DUSK ticket holders will be able to remain in the Buff Club after the gig should they wish.
PART TWO - ‘DAWN’ – Saturday 29th May 2pm – 6pm

MING MING AND THE CHING CHINGS release a new 5 track EP called ‘Not In Anyones Gang’ on Badly Built Records, Monday 31st May, download form all good digital stores. They have a launch night on Sunday 30th May in Nice N Sleazys form 11-3pm, featuring support from Eletricat (Brazilian Dancers), a live set from the band featuring visuals and DJs till 3pm. CREATION STUDIO AND CAFÉ is Calling All Bands!!! They are putting together a monthly playlist of local bands all around Scotland! ERSKINE YOUTH FESTIVAL is back. It’s a festival I helped out a good few year ago when i lived in the town. They are going to have a small get together at the EYC Studio location in Erskine, PA8 6BS.
So if you would be interested in being part of the youth council, are interested in how the music festival or recording studio are run and would like to become a part of it the come along to the open evening on Sunday the 13th of June between 7 and 9 pm.
This years music festival will be on Sunday the 8th of august and auditions will be on the 7th, 14th and 27th of June.

THE STAGGER RATS have their single release set for next coming weeks to download through major online distributors along with the launch of their music video which was directed by Robert Cavanah. He recently directed PIMP starring Danny Dyer, Billy Boyd and Martin Compston. They were given the opportunity to provide 3 songs for the film and also the music video. THE LAVA EXPERIMENTS final instalment of their trilogy of eps; Blackbody Vol III is out Monday 31st.
Its available on cd (strictly limited to 100 hand numbered - direct from the lava website) and as a digital download from all good download stores. They are celebrating the release with a launch party at The 13th Note the following Saturday, 5th June, hosted by Flowers in the Dustbin.
