Hello, how are things?

There is a load to get through this week including the launch of a new festival in Falkirk which I am very excited about. Firstly, thanks to all who came down to Raymond Hackland and guests last Monday at the Captains Rest, it was a very enjoyable night.

I have 4 DJ gigs this coming weekend including launch of my new indie night in Stirling and also in the Universal in Glasgow. Both of these alongside my Brass Monkey and Ivory Hotel gigs.

GIGS

Independent Scottish act The Ray Summers launch new Falkirk festival.

www.glasgowmusic.co.uk is proud to present the first of a series of events at the Falkirk Wheel. On Saturday 30th October, The Wheel will play host to an event never before seen at this amazing structure.

Local band The Ray Summers will play a hometown show to mark the launch of this new festival on the basin of the Forth and Clyde Canal.

Lead guitarist Dougie from the band commented “Weve not played a big show in Falkirk for absolute ages so when we heard that a big event was being organised at The Falkirk Wheel we were delighted to be asked to play. Weve played all over the country but nowhere quite like The Falkirk Wheel. Were sure it will turn out to be a really cool place to do a gig. Quite fancy playing a wee acoustic show on the Wheel itself!”
The band have been busy recording their debut album in Monomen Studios in Fife and are looking forward to playing the new tunes to their hometown crowd.
“Weve been in the studio for the past few months so it will be nice to come home and play the album in front of our Falkirk fans. Looking to get the album polished off pretty soon. Im sure well do a tour and have a few more exciting projects to announce!”

As the gig is very close to Halloween fancy dress is more than encouraged.
