Hope you are coming along to the Oxjam Takeover glasgow tomorrow with the finest Glasgow talent playing.

Tickets can be bought in person at each venue where you will get a wristband which will give you access to all the venues on the day.

There is also an afterparty confirmed for the Admiral which will keep you dancing til 3am. Free entry with your wristband or a donation on the door

All raising money for a great cause!

In the News

www.music-news.com is to have an end of year Glasgow Showcase and are looking for acts who have had a good 2010 and looking forward to even bigger and better things in 2011. The gig will be a huge celbration of the music scene in general and there is some big plans in motion.
www.music-news.com is the no 1 website for news, reviews and competitions. Simply put the words `Music` and `News` into google and its the first website to show up. The gig will be featured, reviewed and artists involved will be interviewed guaranteeing huge international exposure.
This gig will feature a fantastic line up and will take place on Saturday December 4th.
Any bands/artists/ managers who would like to put there name forward for consideration then please e-mail Mark at [email protected] . We will also be looking for any volunteers who wish to gain valuable experience by helping out.

In November, PIVO PIVO will pit the sexes against one another in a battle of musical and numerical superiority, with the victors gaining the title of "Bestest Gender 2010" and one performer winning the coveted title of "King/Queen of The Musics" at... a Grand Final in December.
Every Monday in November will be a Free Entry gig featuring all male peformers in the acoustic/folk/pop/indie genres. Every Tuesday in November will be a Free Entry gig featuring all female performers in the acoustic/folk/pop/indie genres.
There will be a total of 8 heats, producing 4 guys n 4 gals to progress to the Grand Final where theyll be representing not only themselves, but defending the honour of their gender.
Why? Well on a serious note there is a definite imbalance in the music scene of men and women, with the majority of our nights being predominantly male. However, ive made a point of having at least one all female night every couple of months and theyve ALWAYS went well, I think in part because theyre quite unusual on the scene.
Plus, its hard being a solo performer. Theres only so many times you can ask the same people to come and hear you.
And, because it will be FUN! And it gives me something to pitch to a sponsor which means there could be a really cool prize at the end of it all.

PINUP NIGHTS takes place on Friday 29th October and features dead sets from Popup, Endor and the Social Services. DJ sets also from Michael Jackson and Freddy Mercury back from the grave. www.pinup-nights.co.uk
