After 4 heats and a semi-final the line-up for the final of the Billy Kelly Songwriting Award 2010 is finalised and performing to win the £5000 prize are

Each act will perform three original songs on the night to a panel of judges and packed crowd at Oran Mor with the winner winning a prize worth £5000 that includes studio recording time and promotion.
The songwriting award pays tribute to Billy Kelly, the visionary behind Glasgows Mayfest (a precursor to Celtic Connections), and his contribution to the Scottish music industry. Kelly was perhaps best known for his work on Glasgows Big Big World and Big Big Country showcases.
The Awards are the brainchild of Oran Mor owner Colin Beattie, who was a great friend and business associate of Kellys. Beattie worked with Kelly for many years on Mayfest and then more recently on Kelly’s Big Big World programme.
There will also be entry forms for next year’s competition available on the night.
