Hello, how are you?

Hope all is well; there is A LOT to get through today. There are some great opportunities for musicians in this week’s letter though so please read on. It’s taken a while to put together as so much happening….

First up today, Congratulation to ALAN MCKIM for winning BEST ACOUSTIC at this years Scottish Alternative Music Awards. I am so chuffed for him as he has worked very hard over the last couple of years. I have recently put his EP launch show on sale. Details are below.

Last night I was on BBC RADIO 1 INTRODUCING with ALLY MCCRAE on the A&R Zone. I am on about 48 minutes in however I recommend you listen to the full show as it was excellent. The wonderful LOKI was in session too. I chose tracks from THE FICTION and VERSUS VERUS

I am about to launch www.glasgowmusic.co.uk ‘s own VIDEO/TV CHANNEL. As I believe in collective spirit of the Glasgow live and recorded scene I am encouraging all bands with videos for their songs to get in touch. Also I will have interviews/features/gigs/recordings/documentaries and films on there too. If you have had anything on video focusing on Glasgow before and want a platform to showcase your work then please fire over Youtube links. I am delighted to announce the Stu Russell as the man to be driving this project.

GLASGOW MUSIC CITY RADIO is now embedded on my website. You can click on the site and listen in to loads of music from Glasgow. The station was part of UNESCO City of Music. I will be doing a show on a Wednesday night from 7pm. Get tunes over to me for consideration.

I am delighted to announce that the first show of the year I am promoting has already SOLD OUT!!! VIGO THIEVES Glasgow show to promote the launch of their new single “Love is Dead” sold out 2 full weeks in advance. The single has been played lots on BBC Radio 1 and is gaining amazing feedback. FESTIVAL IN TENERIFE LOOKING FOR ACTS! This summer there is a one day festival taking place in Tenerife, that is being headlined by one Daniel O’Donnell. MUCK LAUNCHES AGENCY! After a series of successful club nights and festival appearances over the last year, MUCK have today launched their very own DJ Agency based in Glasgow. The agency will be representing Botnek (Canada) and Polymath (Scotland)
BOTNEK are a DJ/production duo from Montreal, Canada. They have been quietly developing their mix of dutch house, tech house and afrobeat for several years, and are finally ready to release their first original records. GLASGOW MUSIC COMPILATION coming out soon. Sponsored by Trisickle Magazine and Shootback Productions. There will be 2 live shows to promote the release. Firstly in Captains Rest on March 15th featuring Strawberry Ocean Sea, Carnivores, Run From Red and Phil Feenan (acoustic) then the main launch night is in Stereo on April 13th where the CD will be available to buy for £5. Bands confirmed for that night include Crayons, Tempercalm and Weather Barn.
