How are things?

A mental week that started with a great gig with Fridge Magnets, VSVS and The Machine Room, a series of DJ gigs over Halloween weekend and a much needed day off!

I am looking for bands for a series of gigs get in touch if interested. I am also looking for promoters wanting to put on shows.

CHAMBRE69 is now selling proper burgers at good prices Wednesday to Saturday from noon– let me know if you would like a voucher for £20 worth of food for £10. You can get one off the Facebook too and bring it into the bar

Creative and Cultural Skills is working with key industry stakeholders to develop new National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the music sector. Building on current suites in Music Business, Technical Theatre and Performance and Live Events and Promotion new NOS have been proposed for Music Performers and Composers and Music Audio Technologists. NOS are key to the development of fit for purpose training programmes, occupational qualifications and apprenticeship frameworks.A list of work activities has been produced for Music Performers and Composers and a separate list produced for Music Audio Technologists these can be viewed at http://www.ccskills.org.uk/Standards/Consultations/tabid/851/Default.aspx, where there is also a short and simple survey that we would request you complete in relation to the lists.

Scotland’s leading music scene social night BORN TO BE WIDE, is to host a radio seminar at Edinburgh’s Electric Circus on Thursday 3 November. Stuart Barrie, Capital Radio’s Head of Programming has just been added to the lineup. Other speakers include the BBC’s Michael Douglas [Vic] Galloway, award winning presenter Jim Gellatly, veteran radio plugger Grant Crain and producer of Radio’s Scotland’s Iain Anderson Show, Stewart Cruickshank.
