SONG FOR HEROES was held for the very first time in Ayrshire 2011 of which Pammi Q was the winner and due to its success they have decided to hold another in Ayrshire. The concept is to encourage local Ayrshire songwriters from all genre’s to write a ‘song for heroes’. As part of the Careers Show interviews with a local injured soldier, they decided to develop the idea in order to raise more awareness and funds for the Help for Heroes charity. The team now consists of Eddy Gemmell (Careers Show), Ayrshire Sainsbury’s staff, Impact Arts, Help for Heroes, local volunteers, schools and recording studios.
Entrants can be of any age, unsigned and from Ayrshire and can submit their song by either dropping a CD into any of the four pillar boxes at Sainsbury’s stores in Ayrshire (Prestwick, Saltcoats, Stewarton and Irvine) or by mp3 to [email protected] .the closing date is 31st August when a panel will listen and judge a group of finalists to perform at a Grande Finale held in an Ayrshire venue (soon to be announced). The winner will receive The Careers Show Award and have their song recorded by a local studio and available for sale at Ayrshire Sainsbury’s stores.”
