Read More Scotland’s music convention, Wide Days, is pleased to announce the first speakers for this year’s event, which takes place in Edinburgh on 10-11 April. Confirmed participants include music publishers, music photographers and some of the UK’s most cutting-edge indie promoters.
“Wide Days always attracts great speakers and this year is no exception,” says founder Olaf Furniss. “We have some of the best people in their fields, covering a diverse range of subjects.”
Building on the event’s cross-genre appeal Singing From A Different Song Sheet includes Scottish Jazz Federation director Cathie Rae, folk musician Findlay Napier and Dave Hook, frontman with Scotland’s biggest hip-hop act, Stanley Odd.
And in keeping with Wide Days international ethos, the publishing panel includes Norwegian Kai Robøle, whose Waterfall Music has provided songs for top pop acts including Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls, One Direction, Pixie Lott and N Dubz.
Among the presentations is a guide to selling via digital stores and streaming services hosted by EmuBands, while award-winning photographer Jannica Honey will team up with NME-snapper Euan Robertson, to explain the do’s and don’ts of photography.
Two favourites from previous events, are also set to return. Scott Cohen, will host a guide to key online services and Stevie Wonder’s manager, Keith Harris, will lead the PPL-sponsored Wide Initiation talk aimed at first-time delegates.
Additional speakers and panels will be announced in the coming weeks.
