After a massively successful start to 2013, new dates have been announced by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, keeping the fire alive throughout the rest of the year.
So far the tour has seen Arthur’s world travel around the UK through March, and will be returning to UK venues for second leg after festival season both in the UK and Europe. The tour honours 45 years since the release of seminal track ‘Fire’, Arthur Brown’s 1968 number one hit single that still gets regular airplay all over the world and has been covered by the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Die Krupps, The Prodigy and The Who.
Cited by the likes of Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper and Bruce Dickenson as a major influence, Arthur first came to prominence in swinging London in 1967. After time spent in the Paris underground scene, he was quickly signed to Track Records at the instruction of The Who’s Pete Townshend and released the single Devils Grip, regarded by some as the record that gave the birth of Heavy Metal.
Arthurs next band Kingdom Come performed as the main act at the first filmed Glastonbury Festival in 1971 and in 1973 Kingdome Come was the first band to release an album using a Drum Machine.
Forward to the present, and Arthurs most recent album ‘Voices of Love’ had major critical acclaim. He received the Classic Rock magazine showman of the year award, and, with a new album featuring special guests due for release soon, is continuing to prove in his fifth decade that the fire is far from out!
