Clutha Benefit @ The Classic Grand Saturday 1st February 2014

This Saturday, 1st of February, The Classic Grand will play host to a Clutha benefit fundraiser event featuring 18 live musical acts, including Scottish Indie legends, BMX Bandits, The John Carmichael Ceilidh Band, singer songwriter Amy Belle, Glasgow
blues maestros Dirty Diamond & The Gunslinger and many more great acts.

The evening will also be assisted by Still Game stars, Gavin Mitchell ( Bobby the barman ) & Sanjeev Kohli ( Navid ). Sanjeev and Gavin are each hosting a raffle with
a huge list of great prizes up for grabs, including prizes from Gleneagles Hotel, Cava Sound, Valhallas Goat, Terrys Tattoo Studio, Champagne central and many more prizes which can be found listed on the event page.

The event has been organised by Glaswegian musician & producer Richy Moore, stemming from the original idea of arranging a small benefit all dayer in a pub, which
was conceived on the Saturday following the tragic events at the Clutha Bar. Within one day, Richy received over 500 e mails and messages from local musicians offering their support and asking to play at the event and do their bit for their fellow
Glaswegians who had been affected by the tragedy. By the following Monday morning the support had become so overwhelming that a bigger venue, and a bigger lineup
became inevitable.

Barry Douglas, the events manager of The Classic Grand generously stepped up to the task of accommodating the event in the fantastic 800 capacity, 2 room city centre
venue, and with the support of the entire team of staff at the Classic Grand, the much larger scale benefit gig in aid of the victims of the Clutha helicopter crash fell into
motion.

Many local and further afield businesses were also keen to lend their support to raising funds, by donating prizes for the raffles, and Sanjeev Kohli even auctioned off a fantastic prize that every Still Game fan would want to own, in the form of a signed
photo of Navid and Mena Harrid, in which is the only time Menas face would ever be seen in character, which has been a running joke in the famous sitcom since it first
aired in 2002.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Clutha Appeal Fund. Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased from Tickets Scotland and there will be a very limited
number on the door on the evening. Get down early to avoid disappointment.
