QMU to host Professor Green

The British rapper, MOBO Award Winner and International Superstar Professor Green will be performing at the Queen Margaret Union (QMU) on Thursday 22nd January. The concert, including a 40min live-vocal PA by Professor Green, is part of Glasgow University’s “Re-Freshers’ Week”, welcoming international students to Glasgow as they arrive for their first term in the city, and welcoming back all its students after the Christmas Break. Open to all Glasgow Students and Non-Students alike, the show will also feature Kobi Onyame, Glasgow based Hip Hop artist, producer & songwriter who describes his music as ‘hip-hop with a fusion of his life’s influences from Ghana to the UK and beyond’.

This show comes less than 12 months after a visit to the QMU by Emeli Sandé – Glasgow University Alumni and QMU Lifetime Member - who performed with Professor Green on the break-through track “Read All About It”.

As the QMU approaches its 125th Anniversary as a Students’ Union (coming up in March 2015), the performance by Professor Green is just one example of how the venue continues to play a prominent role in the ‘City of Music’ as it always has done, with notable acts such as Nirvana, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand and more recently Twin Atlantic all having performed at the student-led organisation.

Tickets for the Professor Green Concert are available from Tickets Scotland (www.tickets-scotland.co.uk) as well as Ticket Web (www.ticket-web.co.uk) and from the QMU Box Office (booking Fees may apply). Standard Tickets are £17, with £16 Tickets available to QMU Members from the QMU Box Office only. More information available at www.qmunion.org.uk
