An update from Glasgowmusic.co.uk

Hello all!

How are you?

I understand it has been a while since you have heard from us at Glasgowmusic.co.uk.
The reason for this is I have been busy setting up my own events company, Panoptic.

I have ran Glasgowmusic for 11 years as a free service for bands to promote their shows, promoters to announce their shows and also allow a reader to find out what is going on in this amazing city. It also gave a lot of writers a chance to review gigs and have their work featured. It gave them a way into journalism.

During the company startup I didnt have the time to put effort into the Newsletters. I know how much people loved reading these as I was told at asked at many gigs when they were coming back. It always made me smile that people took time to read them. So much time and effort did go in to making them and it drove the site forward.

I toyed with calling an end to Glasgowmusic, however felt it still had its place as a news site breaking stories and promoting music in Glasgow.
However with it being such a big part of my life I was reluctant to let go. I put the suggestion out to some people who may be interested in working with the site and finally today I can announce the plans.

It is my great pleasure to introduce Paul Montgomery. Paul has been a writer at Glasgowmusic for a number of years and shows a great passion for music. When I mentioned I was looking for someone to oversee this, he came up with an idea and I am glad he is now onboard.

He will be in charge of the reviews and features. He will also be adding news stories to the website.
He will also be looking for new writers to bring stories and reviews to the site.

The site will be cleaned up, redesigned and given a slight overhaul. We have apps ready to go and have had for nearly 2 years. It is time we get them launched.

The newsletter will also return in the very near future. Please continue to send news stories to myself.
