Róisín Murphy closes Riverside Festival 2022 with a transcendent performance

Irish queen of disco Róisín Murphy joined Scottish fans on the banks of the Clyde tonight as she brought Riverside Festival 2022 to an ethereal close. Following on from the previous days headliners Charlotte De Witte and Carl Cox, the former Moloko vocalist transformed the grounds of Glasgows Riverside Museum into one vibrant dancefloor with her revered live show, complete with incredible visuals, costumes and dancing. Riverside Festival also collaborated with Shoot Your Shot which saw a brilliant celebration of club culture and unity with the LGBTQ community.

Mark Mackechnie, Festival Director, said: "This weekend has cemented the ninth edition of Riverside Festival as one of the best yet. Fans, artists and organisers alike will agree its been a great vibe from start to finish. Were particularly proud of this years lineup. Across three days and three stages theres been a really good mix of acts, with plenty flying the flag for Scotlands own scene at the Satellite Stage."

This weekends event saw the festival take place in May for the first time since 2019 with an eclectic array of over 60 artists including Robert Hood, Joseph Capriati and festival curators Slam.

Today the third and final day of Riverside Festival 2022 came to a close with Glasgows own Optimo (Espacio), The xxs Romy and Chicago house great Derrick Carter all stepping up for some incredible sets. Big Freedia aka the Queen of Bounce performed a spectacular Scottish debut - and one of Glasgows most loved club nights Shoot Your Shot took over the Waterfront Stage with a formidable line-up of amazing artists including Job Jobse, HAAi, I.JORDAN + more.

As the sun sets over the ninth edition of Riverside Festival, SWG3 takes the baton, inviting fans to carry on dancing only a stones throw away from the main event. The unstoppable I.JORDAN will be joined by ABSOLUTE; as well as Glasgows own LEZZER QUEST and hero of house music Austin Ato + more, taking fans to a place where freedom and joy reign supreme. This, is Riverside By Night.
