The Last Dinner Party - Barrowland Ballroom 19/11/2025

A spectacular feast of pomp, rock, and glorious chaos.

Glasgows Barrowland Ballroom proved to be the perfect venue for The Last Dinner Party on their recent tour supporting their latest album, From the Pyre. It was a sold-out show at the iconic venue and everyone present was psyched.

After Imogen And The Knife warmed up the crowd as the support act, the London quintet came on the stage and delivered a performance that was nothing short of cinematic. The atmosphere was electric - a palpable excitement for a band who have swiftly transitioned from word-of-mouth newcomers to one of the UK's most exciting acts.

The band opened with the soaring pomp of "Agnus Dei" from the new album, instantly setting the tone of what was to follow. Frontwoman Abigail Morris, a blur of energy and captivating charisma, commanded the spotlight, her presence oscillating between playful teasing and intense emotional delivery.

The setlist perfectly balanced material from their acclaimed debut, Prelude To Ecstasy, and their equally acclaimed albeit more grittier, raw sounds of From The Pyre. Highlights included "Count The Ways" and the anti-war rock of "Rifle", other tracks that were played included the likes of "The Scythe", "Sail Away", "Gjuha" as well as the driving power of fan favourite "Big Dog", allowing each band member to shine.

The band also opened up to the audience many times during the set, even at one point congratulating the Scotland football team on their World Cup triumph, as they reached the group stages for the first time since 1998 that night after a 4-2 victory over Denmark.

The Last Dinner Party at the Barrowland Ballroom was a thrilling, theatrical triumph. They proved that their unique pop sound is designed for the big stage, delivering a show that transcends the typical concert experience. It was a spectacular feast of pomp, rock, and glorious chaos.

If you missed out on the spectacle, you will be able to catch them again next year as they will be in Glasgow Green for TRNSMT 2026, Scotlands premier music festival, where they will surely bring the stage down once more.
