GUN - Cumbernauld Theatre 05/08/2022

Gizzy and Dante perform an acoustic set at Cumbernauld Theatre.

Scottish outfit GUN performed the first of a number of acoustic gigs on the 5th August, kicking off their first gig as part of their acoustic tour, it all starts off in, what’s it called? Cumbernauld!

I got to meet the two brothers backstage and was pleasantly surprised how down to earth these guys were. So, I was excited about the gig and the crowd around me had mutual feelings.

Kicking things of was Ewan MacFarlane, such a talented singer, he got the crowd warmed up for the headline act and he is definitely one to watch.

Cheers of the crowd were heard as Dante and Gizzy made their way on stage, I knew this gig was going to be good.

Being an acoustic set, it was considerably different from the normal rock music they played with the full band, who are set to go on tour after their set of acoustic shows, they also spoke to the crowd as if they all knew each other, reminiscing of days that is past.

This was a different take on the old rock songs they played, Dante and Gizzy brought such a powerful rendition of steal your fire which made the audience take notice, you felt the excitement in the theatre.

This tour is a must see for old and new Gun fans alike, they have more acoustic dates coming up in Irvine, Dunfermline, Strathhaven before returning to Cumbernauld on the 20th August at The Submarine.

GUN will tour again as a full band in December 2022, stopping by at Barrowlands on December 10th.
