The British pop-rock bands setlist was a perfect blend of their latest hits and fan favourites, proving why theyve remained a beloved act in the pop scene for over 10 years.
There were 2 support acts to begin the night, the first being the rising indie pop band S.O.A.P and the 2nd support was Talia Mar, who gave the young crowd the perfect warm up to the main event. Talia surprised spectators with covers of Taylor Swifts "Cruel Summer" as well as a cover of TLCs "Scrubs", the audience sang along to the latter especially, despite more than half of them not being born when the song was released in 1999.
The Vamps arrived on stage to a rapturous applause, the band immediately captivated the audience with their infectious energy, structing their funky stuff the minute the first song played, which was Wild Heart. The crowd erupted into cheers as they belted out the lyrics, the high pitched girly voices echoing through the O2 Academy, the majority of the attendance on the night.
Throughout the night, the band transitioned between both their pop anthems and their more ballad-like tracks, songs like Hurricane, She Was The One, Girls On TV and Wake Up was played. A highlight of the show was the bands cover of Simon and Garfunkels "Cecelia", their rendition was a fresh take on the classic and it was clear that the crowd was loving it. A drum solo was also performed halway through the set, the bands energy was contagious, and they kept the audience engaged throughout the entire gig.
Before the encore occurred, the Vamps gave a powerful performance of their hit song "All Night", of course the young crowd wanted more after that, it was clear that they had left a lasting impression on the audience.
The Vamps then returned after a short encore and finished up the show with Lovestruck and Married In Vegas, James Brittain-McVey, donned in a kilt of course, stood on top of Brads piano during the performance, The Vamps were still engaging even this late on and they concluded the night with another one of their hits, Somebody To You, as they gave their farewell to the jubilant crowd.
Overall, The Vamps performance was a night to remember. Their infectious energy, incredible musicianship, and undeniable talent made for a truly unforgettable experience. The Vamps had the 2,500+ crowd in the palm of their hands, they showed why they are a major force in the British pop scene.
